13-14

In chapters 13 and 14 I read about experiences that no human being should witness or go through. Reading about the drugs he was doing then he would go off and sometimes kill indecent people showed how much he was changing. The best way to know this is by the way he would react after his friends just died; he no longer would go and play soccer. When you realized that Ishmael no longer had any feelings towards anyone was not something I was use to hearing about because everyone feels even Okonkwo. After he thought every refuge he saw were the same refuges that took his family away from him was not going to end well. It seemed like he wanted to die, charging in and killing whom ever but God had other plans for Ishmael Beah. When Ishmael felt nothing while killing a man face to face was the final straw to realize he has completely changed and you would never know if he would ever change back.

MASONN!!!!
haha great blog! I agree with everything you said. I dont think that any human being should have to go through or see the things that Ishmael has had to see during this war. When you said that Ishmael no longer had any feelings towards anyone, I would have to agree. In a way though we can still see that he has some sort of feelings because of the way he reacts when his younger friends die. He thinks he is killing for them. Great blog! i really enjoyed it!

I would have to disagree on him having no feelings, i am sorry, but he has two relations. He absolutley hates the rebels, he would kill them any time he could. while it is not a good feeling towards someone, it is defiantly a feeling. the other one is the squad itself. he does like his squad mates and converses with them, (though it is war related) while he might not have feelings with any one person, he defiantly has strong feelings with the squad itself, if you read ahead it will elaborate. so i guess it would just be one feeling towards someone that i can think of now.
