16-17
In chapter 16 and 17 were happy chapters, you were able to see that just maybe Ishmael still has feelings. The nurse shows a liking to Ishmael but doesn't trust him. And Ishmael is okay with this because he was thought to show no emotion towards humans because they could turn on them at any time. Ishmael is still amazed that she shows emotion towards him and wants to help him. Then when Ishmael goes on the talent show he shows some feelings mostly happiness. Ishmael might become a regular kid again after all.

I thought these chapters showed hope for Ishmael too. I liked how the nurse still tried to e there for Ishmael even though she pushed away. It was like she knew he really did want her to be there it was just going to take a while for him to accept it and trust her.
