Okonkwo

I view Okonkwo as a man who is ruled by fear. Everything he does is because he is afraid of someone making a comment towards him. “Okonkwo was not a cruel man. But his life was dominated by fear, the fear of failure and of weakness”. (pg. 13) To me Okanakwo is a little extreme but for the most part he acts as any other man in his tribe. Okonkwo is not necessarily a bad man but he is not a man of peace. If he had been raised with a father who loved him and could support him he would be completely different person, I think. Okankwo is man whom is confused and doesn’t want any one to know. Okonkwo acts the way he does, so no one thinks he’s weak. Overall I think Okonkwo is a good man but has a lot of growing up to do.
